Costa Mesa, Calif., October 25, 2017 – Insitu, www.insitu.com a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, recently announced INEXA™ Solutions, its comprehensive group of experienced professionals, unmanned air vehicles (UAVs), manned aircraft, remote sensing products, and information delivery services.
Collaborating with customers to identify business challenges, INEXA Solutions experts utilize a continually expanding suite of capabilities such as INEXA Control™ (ground-based command and control), INEXA Cloud™, unmanned and manned air vehicles including ScanEagle®, INEXA sensors and analytics, and more. This combined approach provides custom solutions and answers to mitigate business challenges. With more than one million UAV flight hours, Insitu’s INEXA Solutions suite of services and products consistently perform reliably and safely.
Insitu’s global team of professional remote pilots, trainers, software developers, and regulatory experts have unparalleled expertise in converting precision data and aerial imagery into meaningful information. This information is delivered when and where customers need it, enabling decision-making superiority — and ultimately — resulting in productivity gains, optimal operations, and enhanced safety for large-area operations.
In addition to providing broad area survey for enterprises, Insitu recently provided information for emergency response operations following Hurricane Harvey’s landfall in south Texas. Insitu launched and conducted beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations at the Port of Corpus Christi, and Sugarland, Texas, and conducted search and rescue, damage assessment, pollution assessment, critical infrastructure assessment, security and monitoring, and unmanned and manned aviation over watch.
Immediately following the work in Texas, Insitu crews helped incident commanders and firefighters to suppress the Eagle Creek, Oregon fire in the Columbia River Gorge region. Coordinating with the Oregon Department of Forestry and other governing entities, Insitu’s ScanEagle system provided optimal, near real-time data for firefighters and first responders, resulting in heightened emergency response efforts, increased situational awareness and safety, and supported planning and resource allocation.
Insitu coordinated manned and unmanned aviation assets for data collection, analysis, and integration, and near real-time georeferenced spatial data (maps tied to specific known locations) were produced. Equipped with electro optical (EO) and infrared (IR) video for nighttime flights, ScanEagle flew at night (when manned aircraft typically cannot fly), and provided incident commanders and firefighters with data that created updated incident perimeter maps, identified spot fires, located fire lines and hotspots, and provided near real-time video feed and still images of critical infrastructure, historical structures, and more.
